Hi, I’m Sarah.
I grew up in the Bay Area in a Swiss/Iranian family that was full of food, travel, and love. I went to a crazy hippie high school and am currently studying Nutrition Science in Northern California, where I live with three roommates, a bunny, and an albino guinea pig.
I love being outside, giant mugs of coffee, school (huge dork), all kinds of animals, and of course, food. I’m looking at a career in the medical field — I think it’s amazing how people work and would love to spend the rest of my life helping to make sick people better.
This blog started out as a class project but it’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I’ve spent the last three years learning (with many culinary disasters along the way) how to eat good, healthy food as a busy college student on a budget. I know how difficult it is to eat well in college but I do believe it is important and I hope to share some of what I’ve learned, from both my nutrition classes and my own experience.
I’ve kept writing here after my class has ended but the focus has definitely shifted – it’s become more of a food-focused personal journal than nutrition blog. I love having a way to look back at my college years, as well as a place to keep track of recipes.
Just a quick disclaimer – I am studying nutrition but I am NOT a registered dietitian or any other kind of medical health professional. Please check with a doctor before making any changes to your diet.
Welcome and thank you for reading!
